It is with great sadness that we share that Phillip “Phil” Michaelson, age 72, died on January 5, 2019. Phil loved his wife of 50 years, Dr. Ronni Michaelson, and she was devoted to him. He also adored his children, Jane Murphy (Peter) and Gail Karp, both of Framingham, and they adored him. He and his grandchildren, Lea and Jackson Murphy and Elliott Karp, found mutual delight in each other. Phil was a salesman by profession and a musician and comedian in his heart.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Phil is survived by his extraordinary mother, Charlotte Frank, his brothers Martin (Anne), James, Richard (Allyn) and sisters-in-law Susan Michaelson, Wendy Login (Ed Mena), and Cathy Jrade (Ramon), his longtime and loyal caregiver Emmanuel Agyeman, many nieces and nephews, and innumerable dear and faithful friends.
Funeral services at Temple Beth Elohim, 10 Bethel Rd., Wellesley on Tuesday January 8 at 1pm. Burial at the Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Rd., Wayland.
Shiva will be held at his late residence following the burial through 8pm and continuing Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Combined Jewish Philanthropies (cjp.org) or VH1 Save the Music Foundation (vh1savethemusic.org), which strives to provide every child in America with access to a musical instrument. We will think of Phil every time we hear the Beatles or a particularly irreverent joke, and we hope you do the same.
