Phyllis Albert

Albert, Phyllis Mildred , of Boston, died on July 16. She was 98 years old. She is survived by four children: David Albert and his wife Meg, of Wareham, Massachusetts; Richard Albert and his wife Mary Ann, of Boston; Bernard Albert, of Newton; and Alan Albert and his partner Susan Nisenbaum Becker, of Dedham. Her oldest son James died in 2005. She leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren: James Albert and his wife Candace, of Hampton Falls, NH; Jennifer Birnbaum and her husband Joel, of Campbell, CA; Janet Albert and her husband Jonas Bromberg, of West Roxbury, MA; Jill Celik and her husband Feyzi Celik, of Hopkinton, MA; Michael Albert and his wife Cindy, of Millis, MA; Marc Albert and his wife Elizabeth of Sudbury, MA; Matt Albert and his wife Kira, of Oakland, CA; and Thomas Albert of Cambridge, MA. She had 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, including Dian Smith and her husband Bob, of New York City, and Robert Goldston and his wife Ruth, of Princeton, New Jersey, daughter and son of her late beloved sister, Elaine Goldston. Phyllis Albert’s husband was the late Samuel L. Albert, who died in 2004.

She was loved by many and nurtured a large, wonderful, loving, and sharing family. She is well remembered for her kindness, her keen intelligence, her welcoming home, and her ongoing devotion to her husband and family. She was blessed with remarkable health and wisdom until the very end. She was also an extremely creative person, who, along with her husband Sam, read widely and wrote moving and heartfelt poetry. We will always miss her and keep her memory warm in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA 02445, at 11AM on Tuesday, July 19. After interment at Sharon Memorial Park, there will be a luncheon to follow at the home of Alan Albert and Susan Nisenbaum Becker, 109 Monroe St., Dedham, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
