A year has passed, and still I reach out to call you when I think of something we would have shared.  I feel your loving presence and wry wit when I know that you are with me still.  There is so much to say, I wrote notes, but it is too hard.  I remember you always my dear friend who crossed the rainbow bridge so bravely, as she lived her life.
I drink a toast to you today, and I send love to you, your family and friends,
I am sure you are in good company on the other side!

Word of Rebecca's passing continues to ripple outwards. I am both saddened and shocked to hear of it.

My memory of Rebecca will forever be of that lithe, earnest person in her Maynard office, full of soft warmth.

I knew Rebecca and Neysa when we were children in Englewood NJ. I am so saddened to hear of Rebecca's passing. To me she was a friend's kid sister who always wanted to hang around us.
Mr. Caplan and Neysa, my thoughts are with you. I hope you have a wealth of happy memories to recall to help you.

Rebecca was an amazing person and an amazing doctor. I was a patient of hers for a year and a half, right up until she had to leave her practice. I enjoyed my appointments with her. We generally ended up talking long  after the appointments were over about our mutual love for our respective dogs. Outside of appointments, I enjoyed seeing her with her beloved dogs Ginger and Gilligan in Amory Park.  She will be missed.

Rebecca was my dear friend, my chiropractor, my fellow dancer, fellow soapmaker, fellow wine-drinker and foodie, and most of all, a trusted listener.  We shared many of our life crises and emotional travails over the years and in the end, always took strength, humour and renewed optimism away from our time together.  I miss you so much, Rebecca, but I know you are on to bigger and better things.  My deepest condolences to your family, and to the many, many other friends and patients whose lives you illuminated.  Blessed be!

I am sad at the relatively sudden loss of Rebecca, even as her beautiful Spirit remains in memory and close. What I recall is Rebecca's honesty and love for some people & things, her cheering concern,  intelligence, respectfulness, readiness to learn, her being a lover of shared laughter & the pleasure of sharing.   I recall her facing this most difficult prognosis with such candor -- and her recounting happy moments from her early life in that distinctive voice spoken of as we travelled to healers in the last month.  I recall her love (like a sister) of her recent roommate who was so generous -- and her clear concern and appreciation for her immediate family and many valued friends.    Now, may she rest in peace!  And her memory most definitely IS a blessing. You are missed, dear Rebecca - sending LOVE to you on ahead. Heartfelt condolences go to all her family and friends. One thing is certain, we all love Rebecca.  I wonder if she now knows how much she was loved, admired and valued. This guest book is barely scratching the surface of all whom her life touched. Many will learn of her passing many years from now and think, no way, not Rebecca. Too young, far too young, and she did so many things right. Sure she had a sweet tooth but who doesn't love chocolate!

Rebecca and I met while at Chiropractic College. We studied together, laughed our fool heads off, we mostly hung out at Joni's together (where the majority of the laughing occurred). I have a picture of me putting make up on her. I remember she thought that was such a waste of time. A natural woman, no nonsense, she strove for excellence in whatever she endeavored. How could you forget her strikingly, beautiful eyes?  Her voice was distinctive and so Rebecca. I can still hear her saying, “Dar”. She held herself in perfect posture, exact opposite of my own. We laughed when I told her she must have been some very wealthy woman in a past life due to her interest in the finer, elegant things in life and her graceful countenance. I kept telling her she would add so much to the life of a very wealthy man, she could entertain heads of state with her conversation skills and vast knowledge.  As well as her ability to organize and plan elaborate dinner parties. I hope that is what she is doing on the other side. I hope she has all the elegant china, crystal, fine linen table cloths and fabulous flower arrangements she can possibly imagine at her finger tips. And the rest of the time she spends lying about on the beach in some tropical island paradise being waited on hand and foot by hunky, gorgeous men. That was another vision we had in the last months of her illness. I also told her, “Rebecca, you will have wings in Heaven.” She thought that was cool, she said she always wanted to fly. Oh yes, and the perfect body, a dancers body, dancing without pain. She is now in the loving arms of her mother whom she adored.

I love you Rebecca. ‘I miss you! I still can't believe you have graduated, but you always were ahead of the rest of us, you had bigger fish to fry, galaxies to explore, elaborate parties to plan.

Rebecca and I were classmates at Lexington High School but only became close when our paths crossed again at a contradance in Belmont.  She was a fantastic dancer and so fun to be with.  We shared many meals, philosophical discussions, lost weight together, and went on many walks and bike rides on the Lexington Rails to Trails Path.  I feel fortunate for the many good times we shared and for having had the opportunity to get close to a warm and very bright person.  Rebecca was a generous friend and an elegant woman.  I am so sorry Rebecca is no longer with us and offer my sincerest condolences to her closest family and friends.  I know her loss will be deeply felt.

I am so sad to hear the loss of Rebecca. I did her billing for 7 years. I will miss her dearly. Rest in peace my friend.

I know Rebecca as the best chiropractor and as a friend and fellow dog-lover. I will always remember her treating me on the table with Ginger and Gilligan under the chair. My family and I are devastated by her loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Oh, Rebecca, you will be missed. The way you went above and beyond to heal people. That you really cared. That you were really good at what you did. I will miss making you laugh when you were trying to be serious.

I have many happy memories of Rebecca. Our time together in chiropractic school, our phone calls and communications since, and the unique way she had of putting things in clear perspective when sometimes details tried to muddy a situation even now make me smile. She showed up when things were difficult for me more than once, offering her humor and support, and my heart warms to remember. I know that she touched many lives in a positive way. I'm grateful to have known her and saddened to see her go. She is missed already....

I have many fond fun memories of Rebecca from Palmer College of Chiropractic. We spent hours studying together in small groups, lots of coffee, and fellowship among us all as young interns. Eventho the years have passed and I didn't have the opportunity to be a part of your life in later years, I never forgoton your beautiful smile and the kindness you gave me during those challenging stressful years at Palmer. I miss my dear friend with whom I shared so many interests, so many great meals and tasty cocktails, so much laughter, and such wonderful conversations.  My heart goes out to family and friends.

I still cherish the memories I have of Rebecca's smile, her wit, and compassion.  We cooked together, took long walks, went to tango and bellydance classes together, and had some friends in common from both of these dance scenes.

I met Rebecca while dancing tango, and she was a truly wonderful dancer and friend. I will miss her very very much.

Rebecca and I knew each other in high school.  I used to bicycle her home on my handlebars.  She was passionate about women's rights and was fearless in seeking justice.  

A bunch of us (she, Kathy, Eran, me) held endless Zionist meetings together in our living rooms, and Rebecca understood the issues better than most of us.  She definitely had better sense than we did.

Rebecca also had grace - in the way she walked, in the way she accepted difficult situations, and in knowing for certain that things always worked out for the best.

All of us who knew her and loved her from then will miss her wit, her humor, her seriousness, and her easy laugh.

Rebecca, I thank you for letting me in to your life over the past four months. Although I have known you for over 30 years, you were always Neysa's little sister, and I didn't really know you all that well. I always liked you though, and it was an honor to be of some help to you and hopefully to give you some solace during your illness. It is clear from all the people whom I met while visiting you, and from these guest book entries, that you had a lot of friends and many interests. It sounds like you lived life to the fullest. I am one of the many people who will miss you.

We will miss Rebecca dearly. She was a passionate dancer who loved the tango music and was eager to share this love with anyone who danced with her. May you enjoy the company of Omar Vega, Carlos Gavito & Kely Posadas and continue to dance to eternity.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Rebecca.  She will be greatly missed by all.  My thoughts and prayers are with her friends family and loved ones.

The Argentine Tango community is saddened by the loss of long time tanguera Rebecca Caplan.  She was one of the very first tangueras in Boston and was very supportive of the Tango Society.  She was involved not only in Tango, but also in the Bellydance community.
