Richard Donald Fritz, 89, of Newton, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Lincoln, MA, due to complications from kidney disease.
Born in Cambridge, MA, Richard was the son of the late Carl & Bertha (Gorin) Fritz and the brother of the late Dorothy Silver and Malcolm Fritz.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his son, Roger C. Fritz; his daughter, Laura R. Fritz; and his sister, Roberta Goldman.
A lifelong learner and versatile professional, Richard earned his BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and his MBA from Babson College. His career spanned several fields: he began as a programmer, working with companies including Honeywell and Cabot Corp, then ventured into entrepreneurship by owning his own retail and wholesale fabric business. In his 50s, Richard transitioned to various sales and service roles, culminating in a 14-year tenure as a customer service representative with the Internal Revenue Service. He retired at 70 and enjoyed nearly two decades of well-deserved retirement.
Services in the Chapel at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham St., Sharon on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 1:00pm.
Memorial observance at his late residence beginning Wednesday evening from 5-8pm.
