He is survived by his wife, Judith W. Steinbergh, son Jesse Kroin, and stepchildren David Steinbergh and Shauna (Steinbergh) Braum as well as many step-grandchildren and a beloved niece, Alexa.
Bob was born in New York City on June 17, 1941, to Morris and Ruth (Blattberg) Kroin and later moved to Teaneck, NJ, where he attended High School. He went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and two Masters degrees from Harvard University, one in English and one in Architecture from the Graduate School of Design. He worked with the Boston Redevelopment Authority from 1969 to 2009, where he became Chief Architect and helped guide the City’s major projects over those decades. He was a passionate advocate for public access to the waterfront and a persistent voice for thoughtful design.
Bob was a shining intellect with many interests and friends and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
