Rosalind Finkel Dreyfus

Rosalind (Finkel) Dreyfus of Brookline on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at age 84. Beloved mother, grandmother. Feisty lover of beauty and justice; gifted communicator and connector; alumna of Smith College and longtime bacteriology technician. Daughter of the late Dr. Harry S. and Rhoda (Stone) Finkel, foster sister of the late Gunther Bodenheimer, and stepmother of the late Sylvia and Nicholas Dreyfus. Roddy left her mark as a model of perseverance, open-minded love, and loyal care for her family and friends. An exceptional parent and grandparent, Roddy leaves sons Peter, Andrew, and Tony of Brookline, Newton, and Jamaica Plain; daughters-in-law Lynn Eisenstein, Lynn Modell, and Michele Lepietre; nine grandchildren; and dear friends and beloved cousins across Boston and the world. Roddy was a passionate teacher of her forward-looking tastes in design, food, literature, and film. We will always remember her "as time goes by."

A funeral will be held on Sunday October 6, at 2:00 at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline. Interment at Temple Israel Cemetery, 492 North Avenue, Wakefield. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
