Samuel Schlossberg

Samuel (Sam) Howard Schlossberg passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the age of 71. Formerly of West Hartford, Connecticut, he was a resident of the Boston, Massachusetts area for 40+ years. Sam held a BA degree from the University of Connecticut, and an MBA degree from Suffolk University, Boston, Massachusetts.

After working for many years in Marketing Research, Sam established Jewish Singles Vacations, a group tour organizer. The business was established in 1990 in Massachusetts, and Samuel was the Owner and Business Manager for about 25 years. In his final career, he worked as a Mashgiach for the Kashrus Vaad Harabonim (KVH), the Kosher Certification arm of the Rabbinical Council of New England.

Sam was the beloved son of the late Alvin and Sylvia (Siegel) Schlossberg, brother of Philip (Karen) Schlossberg, uncle of Esther and Aaron Schlossberg and cousin to Haila Gladstone, Richard Rosenholtz, and Susan Rosenholtz Goldberg.

Sam was a beloved friend to many of the people in his Boston community which included Congregation Kadimah-Toras Moshe where he was an active member, and the Kashrus Vaad Harabonim community where he serviced many college dining halls, restaurants, kosher bakeries and catering establishments.

The funeral will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11am at Levine Chapels in Brookline, MA and interment will follow at 4:00pm at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery in Wethersfield, CT. Immediately following interment, and during the week, shiva will be observed throughout each day at the home of Phil and Karen Schlossberg. Minyan will be held at the shiva house Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening at 8:00pm and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday morning at 7:30am. Donations can be made to Congregation Kadimah-Toras Moshe in Brighton, MA, the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford, CT or a charity of your choice.
