Sheila Ruth Parks, formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025. Cherished daughter of the late Mildred and Morris Wernick. Beloved sister of Trudy and Barry Karger of Newton and the late Paul Wernick. Devoted aunt of Bess and Andrew Weiskopf and Joanne and Jeffrey Dell, and great aunt of Michael and Zachary Weiskopf and Lily and Noah Dell.
A graduate of Girls’ Latin School and Radcliffe College, Sheila received a Doctorate in Education from the Boston University School of Education. She worked for many years as an educator at all levels from elementary school to college. She was also a tireless advocate in support of numerous social justice causes.
Funeral services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon, MA, on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 1:45PM. Shiva will be observed immediately following the burial until 6:30PM, with minyan at 5:30PM, and will continue on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30-8:30PM, with minyan at 7PM.
