William Cohen of Newton, on Thursday February 4, 2021. For 57 years, the beloved husband of the late Edith (Rubinstein) Cohen. Loving father of Rodger F. Cohen of Leverett. Dear son, uncle, cousin & friend to many throughout the globe.
The four words that describe Billy to a T: He was the best.
Though friends & family who knew him well feel as if his 95 years on this planet were not nearly enough, all agree that they were blessed to have had Bill for as long as they did.
His marriage to his beloved Edie was filled with laughter & love, and they were the quintessential teammates. Edie & Billy never took a day for granted, and people still talk about the fabulous meals, happy holidays, and their exceedingly warm home, with a kind of reverence reserved for the gods.
Simply put, Bill was a sweet & lovely man, always ready with a hug, a smile, & a kind word. He was a standup guy, the salt of the earth, and a person of integrity. In short, he was a mensch. What more need be said?
At his zoom shiva, there were well over 100 people chiming in with loving stories and memories of a man who was always in the moment and never looked past anyone. To know Bill was to love him, & he will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure to be in his company.
He was the best.
Services were held at Sharon Memorial Park on February 10th.
Remembrances may be made in Bill‘s name to Temple Beth Avodah of Newton, bethavodah.shulcloud.com/payment.php.
