We are sad to hear of Alan's passing, and hope he is now pain free and will be having a great reunion with his family and friends that have passed. It was a pleasure knowing you, and sending comfort to your remaining family and friends at this time. Rest easy now .

He was loquacious. Lord, could he talk! He was generous. He was such a delightful nerd. He was gentle. He had a laugh that was boisterous and joyful. He was a great host. He was sometimes hilarious to travel with. He was a wonderful person. I will miss him so much. People like him are why I hope for heaven — that he can spend eternity with his family and his dear friends.

I am so sorry to learn of Alan's passing. We shared many occasions through Augustana and mutual friends. I am so glad to have shared my home with him during the closing of his DC apartment. I know he is now to at rest and peace.
