You are still missed Tony. From your friends at Chase and Pace

I'm saddened by this loss; for all of us.  I just learned of his passing last night - while connecting with an old friend.  I worked with Tony as a vendor for nearly a decade closely.  It was a relationship that evolved on so many levels, and I could genuinely call him "friend".  I viewed him as one of my professional mentors, as well as some of our discussions helped me in my personal life ( young professional, growing family man, etc ).  I  hurt deeply with his passing, and know that while this was too early for him - he's in a great place looking down on us all.  God Speed Tony.

I first met Tony in college; we became friends and then with a stroke of luck both of us ended up working together. He always had a smile, a wicked sense of humour, a huge heart and a brain to match. He could level set anything and put it into perspective in less than a minute. He was truly loved, cherished and will be missed by all those who knew him.

We met in the 90s at the old JPM, at that time a small 15,000 person investment bank.
We skied a few times, and met even more times at "Conference Room R" (codename for Rosie O'Donnell's, a dive bar on Pearl St.)
After that era we crossed paths a few more times as we each navigated our own journeys thru NY Fin Tech. Our last time was at a launch party in July of last year. 

Our every interaction has been an experience in positive engagement, his trademark smile and a constructive outcome always the markers of time with Tony.

All these memories will be happy reminders of a life and career well-lived, so thank you, Tony, for the example you have set. 

I will find my way to Green-Wood soon to visit and reflect on our times together.

Tony and I first met at JP Morgan in 1989.  We worked together closely as peers and for a few years he was my boss.   His IT knowledge  was unbelievable.  He knew more about most of the technology than most of the people supporting it.  He was always ready to go the extra mile and he gave almost all of his time to the company and fellow employees. We became good friends and even lunched together almost daily.  He was always willing to assist others and he did so happily. He always had a smile and even though  he had a high pressure job it never got the best of him.  He had the respect of his superiors, and subordinates.  I was fortunate to be a close friend for 18 years until I retired.  We slowly lost contact but I often thought about.  I will never forgive my self for allowing this to happen.  He attended the funerals of both my parents even though we no longer worked together. This was the kind of guy he was.   I will always remember Tony as one of the brightest lights in my memories.  I will miss him and  this loss leaves a vacuum in my life.   

My deepest condolences go out to the entire DeVito family, friends, and business colleagues.  I enjoyed working with him - so smart, so professional, so helpful.  But it was his personality that made him stand out.  Always a smile on his face, a kind word, and a people-person who treated everyone as if they had been friends for life.  He will be missed by all...

Tony and I were co-workers at the bank for less than a year.  Although we never met face to face and didn't work together long, I was blessed to have the opportunity to get to know him.  I'm a southern girl, whose father and grandparents were born and raised in NY.   Tony reminded me of my childhood and "home".  He always brought a smile to my soul when he said my name...just like my grandfather used to.   Tony was funny and had this calming way about him.  He was smart and passionate about making work life easier.  
I see his name on our internal chat application everyday and it says "DeVito, Anthony - Presence unknown".  Every time I see it I disagree because there's no doubt in my heart that his presence is in Heaven.  Rest in peace, my friend and tell my grandfather that "Patricia" says hello!  You will be missed.

Tony was one of the first people I met when I joined the bank back in ’99.  I admired his work ethic, his style and his expertise.  He was a great person to work with and I have many fond memories of him pushing us hard to achieve the best possible result.  He was one of those people who made others around him the best they can be, he expected no less of you and I am grateful for the years that we worked together.  Thanks for everything Tony, rest in peace.

Tony and I first met way back in the 1980s when we were English majors at Pace University. We both worked as student interns at school. He worked in the mailroom and I in the Foreign Languages Department, so we saw each other in and out of class all the time. Working at school we made friends with a few other interns and soon we formed our own little clique. After we graduated our group still kept in touch, meeting at our favorite Greek restaurant, going to the movies, parties and having some wonderful adventures that only the young at heart can have. Tony was the voice of reason in our little group; we would always look to him for advice. He had a lot of wisdom coupled with a wonderful sense of humor, and he would do anything for his friends because he had such a kind and loving heart. 

After I moved away from NY with my family Tony came to visit us several times. I have vivid memories of my little sons asking Uncle Tony to chase them around the house and he willingly complied, howling like a monster at them as they giggled and laughed in a mad race to get away. 

We didn’t keep in regular touch as we should have, as our lives took us in different directions, but then we would touch base again and it was like no time had passed – we reconnected as if it were yesterday. 

We were blessed to have known you, Tony, and to have your friendship. Thank you, and Godspeed, my dear friend.

I knew Tony through my job. He and I spent a decade of Saturday's together sharing stories of our childhoods, growing up in Bklyn to large Italian families. I can hear his voice in my head and hear his laugh. He loved his nieces and nephews and talked about them all the time.  He loved being "Uncle Tony" to the world and a devoted son to his mom. His sudden departure has left me shaken to the core.  If I had a chance to say one more thing to him it would be "you were loved by many and an awesome guy." Goodbye my friend.

I didn't know Tony very well but we have had some great conversations.  He had a calming demeanor and a quick smile.  He offered great advice and was always respectful and kind.  

I am saddened by his loss. 

I didn't know Tony very well but I can attest to the wonderful traits already shared about him.  He was thoughtful, funny, sharp and quite kind.  Tony was a man of sound advice and clarity.  I am saddened by his news of his passing.  

In the days ahead may you, his loved ones, make your way beyond the pain to find joy in the memories of who he was in his life.



Tony was and is a great guy...Very personable,  friendly and the guy me and my wife wouldn't mind meeting our families....Too young and makes me think about my own life...Hope he rests in peace.

It's impossible to select a favorite memory with Tony, they were all so fantastic. If I had to pick one, this photo might be it. It was taken with Tony and friends on the evening of his retirement... the second one, that is. Throughout the night we all talked and laughed together, making the most of our time with the guest of honor. Few people I've ever met have an effect on people like Tony, and you can see it in the picture - his contagious smile and loving personality elevated everyone around him. At such a sad time, it's great to remember all of the good times we've had with him.

I'll miss you Tony. Thank you for being such a good friend, a warm soul, and always keeping me smiling.

Tony was funny, smart, generous, and a great friend.  We loved trying funky restaurants with him, catching up on technology or the latest investment advice, or just hanging out in our kitchen with the cats. He was a patient skiing instructor.  We miss him terribly.  Our condolences to his mother and family, and all his friends and loved ones.
