

She resided for most of her life in Park Slope and she worked for Verizon until her retirement. Most recently, she worked as a security guard at Greenwood Cemetery; a place she loved dearly and which will also serve as her final resting place.
Debra was an animal lover, a kindhearted caregiver, and a boisterous lover of life. Even as she struggled with cancer these past few years, she continued to look after others and bring joy and laughter to all those around her.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Gertrude Budgell. Debra is survived by her husband, Dennis, and her 8 siblings, Linda Dunn and her husband Jim, Susan Budgell, Fred Budgell, James Budgell and his wife Pat, Richard Budgell and his wife Maryann, John Budgell and his wife Joan, Kathleen (Nene) Eggers and her husband Michael, and Eugene Budgell. “Aunt Debbie” will be sorely missed by her many nieces and nephews (Maryann, Cheslea, Anthony, Andrew, Tara, Casey, Julia, Patrick, Shannon, Liam, Bonnie, Matthew, Brian, Brandon, Christopher, and Alyssa) as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Joseph G. Duffy, located at 255 Ninth Street, Brooklyn, NY, 112153905, on December 21, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2805 Fort Hamilton Pkwy, Brooklyn, NY, 11218, on December 22, 2025, from 9:45 am to 10:30 am.
The committal will be at The Green-Wood Cemetery, 25th St, Brooklyn, NY, 11232, on December 22, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
