Esperanza Salinas Colón

Esperanza Salinas Colón, age 76, of Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn, New York passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Esperanza was born on January 05, 1946 in Seville, Spain. The passing of Esperanza is not a call for grief and sorrow, but rather a celebration of the life of an exceptional person who truly lived the words that Jesus Christ preached. Her entire life was a living example of caring, loving, and helping her family and others. Her soul was just too bright to be in this dark world. Therefore, God called her home leaving behind her husband Daniel Colón, her children Francisco and Linda, Son-In-law David, grandchildren Giselle, David Jr., Brandon, Esperanza and Daniella. Also her many family members and friends whom she dearly loved. Giving her all without ever asking or expecting anything in return is what made her soul so bright, and we have to remind ourselves that such souls are meant to be called by God and we need to rejoice that we were blessed to have been able spend the time we had with them, but still the world we live in is that much more drab and empty now that she is gone. I guess I just miss my wife to whom I say: “The last years of your life were thorny, through no fault of your own. But as the rain enters the soil, the river enters the sea, so tears run to a predestined end. Your suffering is finally over. Now you will find peace for all eternity. So take with you my love And let it comfort and protect you until we are Together again.” A visitation for Esperanza will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Thursday, 10:45 am at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
