OBITUARY

Geraldine Prishivalko

IN THE CARE OF

Joseph G. Duffy

Feb 1947 – Aug 2021

Geraldine Prishivalko was born in Brooklyn in February 1947, the first child of Paul N. and Helen Prishivalko. She was a Brooklynite and lover of New York all her life, with a career with the Board of Education, eventually retiring as School Facilities Section Chief. But she was also eager to travel with friends or relatives far beyond the city when opportunities arose. There were many cruises, meeting cousins in Poland or even Australia, and frequent visits to her aging mom and dad in Florida for over 25 years. Wherever she went, she would come back with contacts for new friends to stay in touch with from then on, to add to good friends from early school years. In NY, she was always finding theater shows or cinema to occupy most evenings of her retirement years, until the pandemic changes.

She is survived by her brother Ronald and his wife Cheryl, and their children and grandchildren in Virginia. These grandkids were always excited to have Aunt Gerry visit, because she came with presents that greatly exceeded her own luggage. From home, it was shorter jaunts to her cousins Krysia and Henry in NJ, being a loving aunt to their children from their birth to their marriages and motherhood. Cousins Hannah and Barbara and their families could also rely on Aunt Gerry’s continual contact over many years.

Geraldine died, way too soon, in her apartment at age 74, and will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will occur in Reston, VA. Inurnment will later take place at Lee Memorial Park in Lehigh Acres, FL, where her beloved parents' remains are also.
