Maria Ercole

Today we share the news of the passing of Maria Ercole on January 19th, 2026. Born on July 24, 1935 in Ischia, Italy. She immigrated to America in the mid 1960’s. While living in Brooklyn, that is where she met her husband Salvatore (deceased). Together they had a son Francesco who was the light of their lives. Maria was a devout Christian who lived life to the fullest on her own terms. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She enjoyed tending to her home garden, jarring her own tomato sauce and knitting.

She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly. Her son Frank and daughter in law Karen. Her three granddaughters, Jenna, Lily and Francesca will miss her with their whole hearts. Her granddaughters will miss playing Italian cards, making homemade potato croquettes, Gnocchi and her infamous homemade pizza. She was a gift to family and friends alike.

As we say goodbye to Maria, we celebrate her life and the legacy she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, located at 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223, on January 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, located at 430 Ave W, Brooklyn, New York 11223, on January 26, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

Entombment will follow at The Green-Wood Cemetery, located at 500 25th St, Brooklyn, NY 11232, on January 26, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
