With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved, Nancy Marrero-Rivera, who left this world peacefully on August 23, 2025 surrounded by love and prayer.
Nancy was the embodiment of warmth, kindness, and unwavering strength. Her laughter filled every room, her embrace brought comfort, and her spirit lifted those around her — even in the hardest of times.
A passionate lover of salsa music, Nancy carried the rhythm of joy in her soul. Whether dancing around the house, humming to her favorite songs, or lighting up the dance floor at 20/20's with spontaneous moves, she reminded us all to celebrate life and to never stop dancing, no matter what!
Though she may be gone from our sight, her light continues to shine in all of us.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 19th, at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223.
In honor of her memory, we ask those attending to write a memory that you shared with her to be placed in her memory box (cards will be provided) which will be given to her Great-Grandson when he is old enough to understand this loss. Whether it be your favorite salsa memories, stories, songs, or dances; we ask that you share in her beautiful spirit.
Rest in peace, our dearest Nancy. May the music play on, and may your soul dance forever!
On behalf of the 20/20 Family:
Nancy wasn’t just a regular at 2020 — she was the spirit of the place. Her passion, loyalty, and love for the music, the people, and the energy of the dance floor made her unforgettable. Week after week, she showed up — not just to dance, but to uplift, connect, and share the joy that made 2020 so special. Sat at her usual table.
As a tireless supporter and promoter of the community, Nancy welcomed newcomers, cheered on the regulars, and made everyone feel like family. Her presence lit up the room, and her absence will be deeply felt.
To Nancy — thank you for the joy, the moves, the memories, and the love. You’ll always be our Mayor, and your rhythm lives on in every beat we dance to.
With love and deepest sympathy to her family and friends,
The 2020 Family 🙏❤️🙏
