On September 25, 2025, Elham (Elly) Roussakis (nee Elissa), 74, of Brossard Quebec, while surrounded by her loved ones, passed on from this life to her eternal home. We can only imagine the sweet reunion when she saw her Saviour face-to-face and was greeted by her love as he eagerly awaited her arrival.
Elly was the eldest of three children, born on April 9th, 1951 to Daniel and Grecie Elissa in “El Masr”, Cairo, Egypt. She was 13 years old when her family relocated to Montreal, Quebec to start a new life, along with a whole slew of cousins, aunts and uncles whom she often spoke of and loved so much.
Elly was a quieter, more pensive person in nature, who was happy and smiled easily. She was wooed by Nicholas Roussakis while attending Concordia University in Montreal. They married in 1975 and went on to have their three girls, Elena, Melissa and Nadia after settling in Brossard, Quebec.
For the last 5 years, Elly fought a fierce and unwanted battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia. We would like to take the time to thank the staff of CHSLD Marguerite-Rocheleau for their tender care towards our mother.
Elly loved the Bible verse in Job 1:21 “The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord”, a verse that rang so true as we lost her little by little over the years.
Elly was predeceased by father Daniel Elissa, mother Grecie Elissa (nee Gebrin), and husband, Nicholas Roussakis.
Elly is survived by her children, Elena (husband Amar Muni), Melissa (husband Brad Mellette), and Nadia (husband Philippe Bourque), and is also survived by her most precious grandchildren: Sofia Muni, Thomas Muni, Maia Muni, Lucas Mellette, Lauren Mellette, Amelia Mellette, Nicholas Mellette, Rebekah Bourque, Leah Bourque, Emily Bourque, and Victoria Bourque.
She leaves behind sister Mona Massad (husband Tony), and brother George Elissa (wife Irene).
There is no doubt in our minds that Elly is more alive, more mentally sound, more whole than she has ever been. Mom, we now await the day when we can see you again.
