I don't know how to write this, because even though I only met her a few times, her legacy and influence have deeply impacted me. I am thinking of you all and sending you deep, deep love.

Hugs,
Fern

My condolences to all the Bruneau family from the Huggins sisters. Your mom was a magnificent woman, not just because she was the Queen of Swing but because she was human. A loving and helpful person, my mom had 5 girls and times were tough for her… your mom helped in so many ways. She will never be forgotten by us!

My sympathies to all of us who have been dearly touched by Ethel Bruneau, we share your loss.

So very sad that we will not hear anymore your cane tapping and you counting for the kids so that they could tap in time.

Love you lots. Rest in peace and in 4/4 time.

My sincerest condolences to Ethel’s family and dance family! She was so passionate about and dedicated to passing on the art of tap dancing! She will be remembered forever 💐
Wendy Fairhurst, Jennifer Ducross’ (Coates) mother.

Very sad to hear about the passing of Ethel Bruneau who was a trail blazer and an icon . My heartfelt condolences go to Suzanne and her family. Thinking of you all, Marie (TAMS)

Ethel Bruneau …
What a wonderful and special Spirit you are. Filled with love and genuinely caring, touching many hearts of the young and the not so young. You shared your talent with so many allowing them to see talent in themselves. I had the pleasure of working with you creating some of the outfits your dancers would perform in. It was an honour and a pleasure to be a little part of your feel good routines. I thank you for your confidence in me that I was able to assist just a little bit in you majestic moments. You will always be that shiny star in many eyes. Tapping always like the beat of my heart. May you rest and then rise in eternal peace Queen Ethel. 👑💜🙏🏾

Ethel was such an inspiration to many.
I am certain she will teach tap dancing to the angels in heaven. Peace to you great spirit! ✨

Suzanne and Family
My sincere sympathies on the passing of your Loved One. A legend now rests in the pantheon of greats. May you take comfort in knowing how many lives were touched by her presence.
With love

My heart goes out to Ethel’s family and friends at this very sad time. Ethel was a very special lady who made everyone’s life better just by being in it and she will be greatly missed.

I would like to share this poem with you. I first found it when my Dad passed away and it has always been very special and comforting to me. Ethel liked it so much she asked me to read it at Red’s service.

Native American Prayer

I give you this one thought to keep
I am with you still - I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not think of me as gone --
I am with you still - in each new dawn

Ethel, you may be gone from this earth but you will never be gone from our hearts, and as long as there is anyone, anywhere doing a shim sham or time step you will never be forgotten.
