Nygel R. Greenaway

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nygel Greenaway. Nygel died at the CHUM on Monday, June 22, 2020 after admitting himself on Sunday due to pains in his feet and back. He succumbed to complications due to his kidney transplant.

Nygel leaves to mourn his parents John and Sylvia Greenaway; his siblings Constantine, Rhomelda, Jerome, Jennifer, Devon and Stephen. He will be remembered by his Aunties Sandrine Hendrickson, Yvette Collins, Yvonne Peyton, Lucille Greenaway, Isabelle Greenaway; his uncles William, Alphonso and Peter; his nieces Stephanie and Miranda; his nephews Keven, Kordell, Christopher, Corey and many cousins and other relatives.

Nygel will be remembered by the many friends that he made while playing football for Sun Youth, Bishop’s University and the Junior Montreal Alouettes. He also coached several football teams and was a member of Canada’s Track & Field Team.

For many years Nygel has maintained the Alumni webpages for The High School of Montreal and Devonshire Elementary School. He has also done a number of fundraisers for worthy causes here in Montreal.

His inviting smile and a friendly nature will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
