Mr. Garcia was born here in Brownsville, where he graduated from Brownsville High School in 1956. With over 20 years of serving in the U.S. Airforce he retired as a Staff Sergeant. He served as a medic in the Vietnam War. Mr. Garcia enjoyed traveling and once he retired he settled San Antonio, Tx. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Flora Garcia.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Lucila King (Thomas); brother, Ramiro S. Garcia (Irma); three nephews, one aunt, and one uncle, as well as numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 from 5pm-9pm with a rosary to be conducted at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Mass of resurrection will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 8am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell, with committal service to follow at RoseLawn Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas king, Devin king, Jaime D. Garcia, Rolando D. Garcia, Jacob King, and Silas King.
Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Veterans Honors Guard.
