Andrea Hernandez

Andrea was preceded in death by her husband Antonio R. Hernandez, her parents Nicholas S. and Margarita Marks Reyna, her brothers Raul Marks Reyna, Leonel Marks Reyna, Nick Marks Reyna, Sgt. Oscar Marks Reyna and Lt Col. Dan Marks Reyna.

Surviving family include daughters Monica L. Fragoso, Myra Lynn Aguilar (Leonardo), Marcy L. Ezekiel (Michael) granddaughters Megan Lee Molano, Miranda Lynn Aguilar, Elizabeth I. Fragoso, grandsons Leonardo Aguilar, Clarence Fragoso IV, Michael Ezekiel, Mason Ezekiel. Brother, Hector Marks Reyna, sisters, Linda Guererro, Margaret Barron (Roland), Diana Hernandez(Herman +), Dahlia Aguilar and Rosie Salinas(Ramiro).

Andy served as the Vice Regent from 2008-2010 and Regent from 2010-2012 of the Catholic Daughter’s of the Americas, Court Bishop Adolf Marks #1988. Several First Place Awards, Circle of Love, were awarded to the Court during Andy’s tenure as Regent. Andy will always be remembered for being a person who was volunteering her time helping others. She will be lovingly remembered for providing leadership and support with La Posada (feeding those in need), Spanish Meadows (praying the rosary), Layettes (baby shower for expectant mothers), Mini Fiesta (3000 enchiladas prepared), the Thanksgiving Baskets (meals for 50 families), Scholarships (two $500 scholarships awarded to university women) and preparing youth meals (for 200 Confirmation Students).

Andy was involved in many different groups where she found many friendships. Everyday Andy could be found at the mall with the Mall Walkers, walking and meeting to discuss healthy ways of life. Andy was always sharing healthy hints with her family and making sure they were taking care of themselves. She was also involved in H2U, loving the dancing and exercising.

We would like to offer our sincerest appreciation to Dr. Lorenzo Pelly for the personal attention and the dedication that he provided to Andrea, for the last 30 years. The support that he gave the family this week will never be forgotten. We would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses from the SICU, Dr. Robles and his Team, Dr. Gaytan, Dr. Halloum, Dr. Udeh, Dr Khetarpal, Dr. Sy, Evelyn, Eddie, and Robert.

The family would like to thank The Catholic Daughters for the time that they spent with Andy in her hours of need, and for all of the prayers that were offered in her name. Thank you for your guidance and support.

Honored to be serving as pallbearers will be Leonardo Aguilar, Michael Ezekiel, Robert Barron, Alex Aguilar, Herman Michael Hernandez, and Rene Barron. Honorary Pallbearers: Leonard Aguilar, Clarence Fragoso IV, Michael Ezekiel, Mason Ezekiel and Manny Guerrero III.

Viewing began on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at 4 p.m., and continued until 9 p.m., with a Holy rosary recitation at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Rd., Brownsville, TX. Visitation will resume today Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Resurrection to follow at 10 a.m. and a committal Service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
