Diana Gonzalez passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 after a long brave battle with cancer. She was first diagnosed with cancer five years ago during the pandemic and was a warrior in her battle against it. She continued to work as she received her treatments and remained positive in creating memories with her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn. Visitation will be from 10AM to 1PM; Funeral Service will be at 1PM; and burial will follow at 3PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Roy Prado, her two sons, Gabriel and Jason Prado. Her mother, Mary Ingles and sister, Cristina Guyer. Her aunts and uncles: Margot Torres (Clemente), Jesus Cisneros (Justina), Sidelia Trevino (Frank), Mary Ramirez ( † Refugio Ramirez) and numerous cousins. She is also leaves behind her two beloved dogs, Bella Rose and Kato. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gil and Bertha Cisneros and her step-father, Robert Ingles.
Diana was a 1988 Gladys Porter High School graduate where she participated and excelled in numerous activities. She was elected as Homecoming Queen, she was a varsity head cheerleader, was a member of the National Honor Society and was Top 5% of her senior class. She also participated and placed in the Brownsville Top Model and Miss Texas Southmost College.
After graduating from high school, she went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts in less than four years and soon after graduated with her Master of Education in Administration. She worked for the Brownsville Independent School District for over 30 years as a classroom teacher and as an administrator.
She enjoyed spending time with her husband and her two children. They were the loves of her life, and she was the love of theirs. They were her sunshine---and she, theirs.
Diana was admired and loved by many. She was a very dedicated educator who loved working with her students and seeing them succeed. She loved to read and had an extensive collection of books. She shared this love of reading with her students by encouraging them to read. She served as a mentor teacher to many who were new to the profession and enjoyed sharing her knowledge.
Diana will be greatly missed by those that loved her. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making loving memories with them.
