Emma, who lived all her life in Brownsville, TX worked as a young woman at Pan American Airways and later at Luby’s Cafeteria. She and her husband enjoyed attending dances and events which involved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Emma’s house was always the center of all family activities with many barbeques attended by her family. She also never missed watching a Dallas Cowboy game, and her family knew, if they needed to talk to her, to wait until half- time.
Emma is preceded in death by her husband, Geronimo O. Doria; her son, Jerry Doria; her brother David Cantu, and a granddaughter, Marcela Cavazos.
Left to always lovingly remember her as a strong- willed, independent, and intelligent woman are her children, Graciela (Richard) Pontus, Rosalinda (Rogelio) Rocha, Yolanda (Jimmy) Jaramillo, Carlos (Odie) Doria, Christina (Humberto) Cavazos, Rolando (Dora) Doria, Jesse (Diana) Doria, and Daniel Doria; her 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren..
Serving as pallbearers will be Rocky Rocha, Jr., Luis Cavazos, David Pontus, Tino Salas, Danny Baggett and Justin Doria.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 1pm to 9pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with a rosary service at 7pm.
Mass service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 1pm at St. Luke Catholic Church at 2800 Rockwell Brownsville, Tx with a committal service to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
