Guadalupe G. Benavides

Guadalupe was born in Brownsville, Texas, to Emilio Garza and Elida Perez Garza. She was deeply loved, and her presence will be profoundly missed by her family, her friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ricardo Benavides; her father, Emilio Garza; her mother, Elida Perez Garza; her brothers, Emilio Garza Jr., Luis Garza, and Juan Raul Garza; her sister, Irene Garza, her grandson, Daniel Garza Jr.; and her step-son Raul Benavides.

Guadalupe’s memory will forever live on through her children—Beatris Bustillos (Abraham Bustillos), Janie Benavides, Cynthia Guijarro (Hector Guijarro), Ricardo Benavides Jr.( Freicy M. Benavidez), and Irene Benavidez ( Carlos Flores). She also leaves behind fourteen cherished grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and her siblings Maria Elena Cuellar (Juan Jose Cuellar) and Erlinda Espinoza (Eliseo Espinoza), along with many extended family members who loved her dearly.

Honored to serve as Guadalupe’s pallbearers are Ricardo Benavides Jr., Hector Guijarro, Hector Guijarro III, Ignacio Herrera Jr., Abraham Bustillos, and Ruben Vega.

A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, located at 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX, 78521, on December 10, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A rosary will take place at the same location on December 10, 2025, at 7:00 pm.

The funeral mass is scheduled for December 11, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Eugene of Mazenod Catholic Church, 5409 Austin Rd, Brownsville, TX, 78521. The burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX, 78526, at 11:00 am.
