She is preceded in death by her husband, Refugio P. Valdez; son, Joe Valdez; parents, Guadalupe and Evangelina Vasquez Almazan; brother, Pilar Almazan and sister, Angelita Gracia.
Ms. Almazan is survived by children, Grace (Paul) Egner of Spencer WI., Noemi Ruth (Lupe) Gracia of Brownsville, TX., Olivia Valdez of Harlingen, TX., Ruben (Patricia) Valdez and Joel (Anita) Valdez of Brownsville, TX., Juan Valdez of San Antonio, TX., Jonas Valdez of Wausa, WI, and Abraham (Debbie) Valdez of Nebraska; brother and sisters, Saul Almazan, Juanita Barrera, Evangelina Flores, Ruth Espinoza and Mary Frances Mora; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3pm to 9pm with a prayer service at 7pm at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista Friday, August 16, 2013.
Chapel service will be held at 10am Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, with a committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park
Serving as pallbearers will be, Ruben Valdez, Joel Valdez, Juan Valdez, Danny Briones, Joel Valdez, Jr. and Robert Valdez.
