It is with heavy hearts but peaceful souls that we announce that our beloved husband and father has passed away. He slipped away peacefully, at home, and surrounded by family.
He immigrated to the United States from Argentina in 1953, and shortly after - as he liked to say - he was invited to join the US Army by President Dwight Eisenhower. He accepted the invitation and was stationed in Germany where he met the love of his life, Andree, on a blind date.
In 1959, they returned to the US and started a family. His work ethic and dedication to family was passed down to his four children. Always the charmer and master storyteller, he was quick with a joke and lit up every room he walked into. He will not be soon forgotten by anyone who met him. His generosity and kindness were unparalleled.

A memorial service for Hugo will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521, followed by a military honors at 4:00 PM.
