It is with profound sadness we share the passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Jose Angel Delgado, who resided in Brownsville, Texas. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the age of 76.
Everyone knew him as “El Tio Gelo”! A man who adored spending quality time with his family. His smile and those green eyes will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed. He will always be loved by his family and friends.
He loved his family above all else, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. He was always there to offer his love, support, guidance and encouraged everyone to follow their passion (dreams). He had an ability to bring the family together and making everyone smile. He will remain forever in our hearts.
Besides being with his family, he loved being a truck (big rig) driver and spending time out on the farm/fields. A jack of all trades, like no other, he was unique among all.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alfredo Delgado; mother, Francisca Castillo; his granddaughter, baby Jaylyn Suarez; and ten siblings (eight brothers & two sisters).
Left to cherish his memories is his beloved wife of 52 years, Maria Irene Delgado; his children, Jose Angel (Nelda) Delgado Jr., Mirna (Elias) Garza, Sandra Luna, Dr. Gladys (Jesus) Suarez and Francisco (Kathy) Delgado. In addition, he is survived by his twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; his sister, Delia Delgado and countless of extended family & friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 1:00PM to 9:00PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00PM in Chapel of Peace, within Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista located at 125 McDavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 2:00PM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church located at 1055 Military Rd., Brownsville, Texas 78520. A burial will occur Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as his pallbearers will be his sons: Jose Delgado Jr., Francisco Delgado; sons-in-law: Elias Garza, Jesus Suarez; grandsons: Elias Garza lll, Jaden Suarez, Jacob Suarez, Isaac Delgado and Kevin Ramirez.
