

He was born January 12, 1926 in Monte Morelos, Mexico to Leonardo Guerrero and Margarita Velasquez Guerrero. He married the love of his life, Guadalupe Alcala Guerrero, on March 27, 1947 in Brownsville, Texas. Leonardo was not only a husband and father; he was also a proud World War II veteran, a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War, and a retiree of the United States Postal Service. He was also a dedicated lifetime member of his church, El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Brownsville, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his son, Ludim Guerrero.
Leonardo is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Alcala Guerrero; children, Leonardo Guerrero III of Toronto Canada, Linda Guerrero of Brownsville, Texas, Lucila Bird of Kalamazoo Michigan, and Liza Garcia of Brownsville, Texas; as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 11:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Funeral Services honoring and celebrating the life of this great man will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10:00a.m. at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church (435 Boca Chica Blvd.) followed by committal service at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Leonardo was a man of honor, kindness, love, and most of all faith. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. “Que Dios te Bendiga, Leonardo.”
