

Leslie Wayne Burch, age 71, of Brownsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, Leslie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, joy, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Born on April 7, 1954, Leslie was the beloved son of Gene and Monte Burch. Throughout his life, he was embraced by the unwavering support and closeness of his family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Brown Hicks, and is survived by his loving siblings: Lana Carriker of Springfield, Missouri; Teresa Burch and her spouse GeorgeAna of Brownsville, Texas; and Larry Burch and his wife Victoria, also of Brownsville.
He is also lovingly remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a wide circle of extended family, including many cousins whose lives he touched in meaningful ways.
Leslie graduated from St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1972, and went on to earn a degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas in 1977. His education laid the foundation for a thoughtful, grounded life, and he remained a proud alumnus throughout the years.
A man of deep passion and warmth, Leslie found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a green thumb and a profound love for gardening, which brought him peace and purpose. He was also an ardent Dallas Cowboys aficionado, proudly following his team through the years. His infectious laughter, sense of humor, and positive spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
A memorial service in honor of Leslie’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Del Angel Funeral Home in Brownsville, Texas. He will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Buena Vista Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and share stories that reflect the love and light he brought to so many.
Leslie Wayne Burch will be remembered always for his kind heart, unwavering spirit, and love for family. Though he may be gone from our sight, his memory and legacy will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
