Lydia was a graduate of James Pace High School. Her last place of employment was at the Bayview Detention Center. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, but her favorite role was that of grandma. She loved spending time at family gatherings and would light up every time her sons would come to visit her. She had a quiet and gentle spirit , and boy did she love to laugh and play pranks. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and were touched by her. Her faith was in trusting the Lord Jesus Christ her savior and his promise of eternal life.
She is preceded in death by her father Ramiro Martinez, sister Irma Cruz, grandparents; Josefina Martinez, Hipolito Zamora and Francisca Olivarez.
She is survived by her mother Ramona Z. Martinez, siblings; Sylvia Martinez, Delma (Robert) Reney and Ramiro (Diana) Martinez Jr., children Randy Benavides and Bryan Eric Benavides, grandchildren; Sophia, Bryanna and Elijah.
Pallbearers will be Ramiro Martinez, Robert Reney, Steven Reney, Randy Benavides, Bryan Eric Benavides and Robert Longoria.
Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Reney and Robert Anthony Martinez.
Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2022 from 1:00pm - 9:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm in Chapel of Angels. A mass will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 9:00am followed by a burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
