Manuel Gonzalez Jr.

Manuel “Shorty” served his country in the U.S. Army as a sergeant. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 43. He was also a surveyor for over 35 years. Shorty loved to entertain and have fun. He loved fishing and his Dallas Cowboys. He was a devoted husband as well as father. He adored his grandchildren and was loved by all. He was a great husband and an even greater father figure. He will always be in our hearts and minds and we will not disappoint him when we show our worth. Please Lord keep him busy and full of laughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Genoveva Gonzalez and his father-in-law, Manuel Villarreal.

Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his wife of 28 years, Olga Lydia Gonzalez, daughter, Danielle Lynn Gonzalez (Edwardo Ochoa); his three grandchildren, Nathan Mathew, Isaiah Michael, and Jaslynn Danielle; brothers, Encarnacion Perez and Federico Gonzalez; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation started on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 2pm to 9pm and will continue today Friday, July 26, 2013 from 8am to 9pm with a rosary at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church at 2308 E. Tyler St. with committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jesus Mario Perez, Encarnacion Daniel Perez, Roy Leal, Luis Rodriguez, Edwardo Ochoa, and Joe Garcia. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Manuel Villarreal Jr. and Daniel Villareal.
