Maria Elena Griffith

Our mother was loving, silly and loved to play loteria. Her daughter and grandsons were her pride and joy. She leaves an emptiness inside us, but we know we will see her again.

Maria Elena is survived by her daughters Lorena Yvette Salazar (Peter) and Melanie Danielle Griffith, grandsons Peter Salazar III, Damien Salazar and Andrew Salazar, siblings Delia, Vicente, Catalina and Angie.

Maria Elena was preceded in death by her mother Maria Mercedes Martinez, brothers Juan Antonio Mejia and Alejandro Martinez.

Maria Elena also leaves behind nieces, nephews and friends who became family and her pet "Coco" to cherish her memory.

A mass for Maria Elena will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM at The Lord of Divine Mercy Parish, 650 E Alton Gloor Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78526. Following the mass will be a visitation from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd., Brownsville, TX 78526.

Serving as pallbearers are Peter Salazar Jr., Peter Salazar III, Damien Salazar, Andrew Salazar, Juan Hernandez, Alfredo Salinas, Jay Manzano and Tomas Murillo.
