Ninfa dedicated 48 years of her life to education, serving as a beloved teacher in Brownsville ISD and McAllen ISD. She inspired countless students at Faulk, Cummings, Hanna, and Pace in Brownsville, as well as Lincoln, Morris, and Nikki Rowe in McAllen. Her passion for teaching left a lasting impact on her students and colleagues. Beyond the classroom, Ninfa was a true servant of the people, always eager to help others. Her life was defined by servitude, whether through offering marriage counseling at Holy Spirit Parish in McAllen, nurturing her neighbors and friends, or providing care and support for those in need of medical assistance.
A woman of many joys, Ninfa loved reading novels, traveling with her late husband, Samuel Rodriguez Sr., and swimming in her pool. She cherished gathering with friends and family, and created lasting memories with those she held dear. Ninfa was an active member of the original Mr. & Mrs. Club in Brownsville and served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister with Holy Spirit Parish in McAllen.
Ninfa is survived by her son, Samuel Rodriguez Jr., and his wife, Linda Rodriguez, along with their daughter, Rebekah Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her sister, Dora Campos (Florentino Campos), and brothers, Javier and Sergio Barron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Rodriguez Sr., her brother, Casimiro Barron Jr., and her parents, Casimiro Sr. and Aurora Sanchez Barron.
Services will be held at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, located at 125 McDavitt Blvd., Brownsville, Texas on June 18, 2025. Public viewing will be from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with the rosary beginning at 7:00 PM, followed by a eulogy.
