He was preceded in death by parents, Donato and Maria Mata, sister, Maria Del Refugio Mata; brothers, Antonio Mata and Francisco Mata.
He is survived by wife, Arminda Mata; daughters, Yolanda Gonzalez (Rodolfo), Alicia Villareal (Sergio), Antonia Sanchez (Juan), Rosa Elia Morales(Zacarias), Marisela Sierra (Roger), Mary Garcia (Marco); sons, Erasmo Mata (Evangelina), Rafael Mata Jr. (Janie), Israel Mata (Diana); sister, Lazara Rosenbaum; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 9pm with a prayer service conducted by his son Erasmo Mata and son-in-law Roger Sierra at 7 pm, on Monday, May 09, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 10, 2011 at 2pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church .
Interment to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
