It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Roman P. Lopez, who entered into eternal rest on October 30, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born in Brownsville, Texas, Roman was a devoted father, loving partner, caring grandfather, cherished brother, uncle, and best friend. His life was a testament to unwavering love, faith, and joy. He found great joy in gathering with family, sharing meals, and listening to everyone’s stories. Roman had a lifelong love for football and was a proud fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Above all, Roman’s greatest passion was being a father and grandfather. His generous spirit, joyful heart, and playful sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Roman was preceded in death by his beloved son Noe Lopez, grandson Darren Christian Vasquez, his parents Roman & Refugia Lopez, and siblings Samuel Lopez, Amanda Lerma, Abel Lopez, Salomon Lopez, Juan Lopez, Ernesto Lopez, and Elena Lopez.
He is survived by his loving partner Maria Victoria Jauregui; his daughters Diana Lopez, Nancy Lopez, Sandra Lopez (Rolando Cantu), Beatrice Lopez Juarez (Antonio Juarez), and Cynthia Lopez Lucio; daughter-in-law Ellie Lopez; his grandchildren Derick Michael Vasquez, David Lee Rubalcava, Noe Roman Lopez, Jonathan Jesus Morales, Felisha Lauren Lucio, Neela Rosalee Lopez, Mathew Lucio, Alex Lee Parras, and Sean Ray Cantu; and his siblings Ruben Lopez, Yolanda Zamora, Rosa Linda Campos, and Daniel Lopez.
Roman will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Derick Michael Vasquez, David Lee Rubalcava, Noe Roman Lopez, Jonathan Jesus Morales, Mathew Lucio, and Sean Ray Cantu. Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel DeLeon, Antonio Juarez and Rolando Cantu.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd., Brownsville, Texas 78526. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1055 Military Road. Burial will follow via an escorted procession to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Roman’s life, sharing memories, and lifting prayers for his eternal peace.
