Born in Bakersfield, California, on May 1st, 1959, Steven led a successful and fulfilling life throughout his time with us. After graduating from the James Pace High School class of 1978, he began an accomplished career as a truck driver in 1999 working for major companies such as Swift, JB Hunt and Paschall Truck Lines. After driving through nearly every state in the country, Paschall Truck lines recognized Steven for driving over a million documented miles with no incidents. His dedication and work ethic extended well beyond his line of work; Steven was a loving father, brother, uncle and son.
A lover of Tejano music, the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros, he always took time to enjoy the little things in life. If he wasn’t watching all the movies at the theatre or enjoying a game of pool at Jim’s Lounge, he could be found around those he loved most – always joking and always laughing.
We’d like to thank Dr. Ahmad Karkoutly, Dr. Mark Cua, the staff at Davita Dialysis, the medical staff at Fresenius Dialysis team in Brownsville and of West Pearland, as well as the cardiology team at Houston Methodist Heart and Vascular Center including Dr. Alexander Butkevich, Dr. Michael Reardon, Dr. Colin M. Barker and Dr. Stephen H. Little for their dedication and commitment in providing Steven with the best care possible.
Steven always knew how to make those around him feel special. Whether on the road or at the doctor’s office, he always left new places with new friends – no one was immune to his charisma. We move forward in peace knowing that Steven would have wanted everyone to do one last thing in his memory - have a good laugh.
