She is preceded in death by her husband, Andres Moreno; parents, Saturnino Melendez and Maria Del Jesus Alvarado; sisters, San Juana Meza and Justina Melendez; nephew, Jose Cruz Melendez.

Mrs. Melendez is survived by her children, Abraham Martinez of Matamoros, Mexico, Sergio A. Martinez (Maribel) of Hammond IN, Rosario Sanchez (Adrian) of Houston, TX, Andres Moreno (Ma del Carmen) of Houston, TX, Maria de Jesus Galvan (Placido), Ricardo Moreno (Maritza) of Houston, TX, David Moreno (Juana) of Matamoros, Mexico, Gerardo Moreno (Antonia) of Colorado, Jesus Melendez (Maria) of Hammond, IN, Vicente Melendez (Maria) of East Chicago, IN, Maria M. Casarez of Brownsville, TX, various grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews from Matamoros, Chicago, Ohio, Indiana, Colorado and Leon, GTO.

“Nuestra Madre, era una mujer muy especial en tiempo buenos y malos estuvo siempre, dando amor y Consuelo para todos los que la rodeaban. Sus puertas nunca se cerraron para nadien. Le gustaba mirar a todos felices y con entusiasmo cuando te miraba con una alegría sincera y de corazón. Le gustaba ir a comer a los restaurantes para tomar café. Que era su favorito. Cada vez que le gustaba algo su lema era “Um Um”. Amor y atenciones de madre inolvidables. Unos ojos lleno de Amor. Que jamás olvidare tu mirada de amor y tenura hacia nosotros. Que Dios te Bendiga Madre mia. Siempre te Recordaremos.”

Visitation will be held from 5pm to 9pm on Friday, February 24, 2011 with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7pm at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista.

Mass will be held at 11 am Saturday, February 25, 2011 at Our Lady Of Guadalupe with committal service to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
