

Charles Lewis Brenton, III (Chuck) of Bryan, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 2 at 2 PM at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with a one-hour visitation before the service. Graveside services will follow. Services will be led by Rev. Dr. David Strawn and Rev. Terrell Boyd.
Charles was born on June 10, 1955 to Louise Beamer Brenton and Charles Brenton, Jr in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He was raised in a loving Air Force family, moving frequently throughout his childhood. At 18, he settled in Texas upon his father’s retirement from the military and acceptance of a new job at Texas A&M University. Chuck attended Texas A&M, graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor of Environmental Design, eventually becoming a registered Texas Architect and Interior Designer. Charles married the love of his life, Terri Bond Brenton on September 12, 1981. On September 12, 1986, he and Terri welcomed their first son, James, and on March 28, 1992, they welcomed their second son, Jacob.
Chuck was a devoted Christian, coming to faith in the military chapels of his childhood, later finding expression in the Church of Christ tradition, and ultimately in the Baptist denomination. He was an ordained Baptist deacon, finding great joy in serving communion, helping the widows of the church, and leading in prayer and worship. Charles was a dedicated husband and father, taking time often to speak of his love and pride for his family. Chuck was a talented Architect, Interior Designer, and artist, holding many different positions throughout his career. He was particularly proud of his tenure as the local President of the American Institute of Architects Brazos Chapter and his time as the Senior Project Planner for the Texas A&M University System Facilities Planning Division. Charles loved music, especially rock and roll and Christian music. Chuck had a vast collection of vinyl records, tapes, and CDs, and attended innumerable concerts.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Louise Beamer Brenton, and Charles Brenton, Jr. Charles is survived by his wife of 44 years, Terri Bond Brenton, brother Bruce Brenton, son James and daughter-in-law Elise Brenton, son Jacob Brenton, grandchildren Benjamin, Phoebe, and John, as well as other nephews, nieces, cousins, and family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck’s memory to St. John United Church of Christ in Robinson, or Habitat for Humanity.
