
Dewey L. McAdams, 82, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Copperas Hollow Nursing and Rehab in Caldwell. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 26, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with Rev. Henry Stovall officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to the time of service on Saturday. Dewey was born July 4, 1929 in Marion, Louisiana, the son of Marshall and Leona (Brantley) McAdams. He was the founder and owner of the Hickory Hut Restaurants in Alexandria, LA. Dewey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. A proud family man, Dewey loved having his family around him all of the time. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorline McAdams; sisters, Genny Hester and Evelyn Hogan; and a granddaughter, Ashley Mashinski. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Frank Bush of Bryan, Doris Mashinski and Pete Odom of College Station, Kim and Malcolm Rachal of Alexandria, La.; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Debbie McAdams of Coplay, Pa.; brother and sisterin- law, Harvel and Semmie McAdams; sisters, Gloria DeLaSalle and Ruby McAdams all of Monroe, La.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
