

Dona was born on January 19, 1933 in Little York (Houston) Texas. She was the daughter of Bill Morille and Rose Piccolo Morille. Dona resided in the Brazos Valley most of her life.
Dona is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Huckaby Sr., daughter, Rosa Nell Huckaby, brothers, Vicent Morille and Tony Morille, sister, Lula Rose Morille, and her parents.
Dona is survived by four children, Bernie Huckaby and daughter-in-law Linda, Sharon Green, James Huckaby and daughter-in-law Lynn, and Irvin Huckaby Jr. and daughter-in-law Pam. She is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dona was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. Her kind heart and gracious and loving manner made her “Grandma” to many more.
Dona Morille Huckaby attended school in Steel Store, and later graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan, Texas. She married shortly after graduation and started her family. Dona was active in her church, After the Rain Ministries. She worked for Safeway, later Village Foods, for 50 years.
Dona also owned Blue Bonnet Kennels for over 50 years, where she raised, trained and sold small breed dogs. She was a source of knowledge for other kennel owners and trainers. She trained and sent dogs all over the world, the farthest being Japan.
Dona loved to support her grandchildren in their many activities. She attended countless recitals, ball games, concerts, and church events. She was always there. She enjoyed traveling, water aerobics, playing 42 and spending time with friends and family. Dona was beloved by all and will be dearly missed. Her family finds comfort in knowing that because of her faith in Jesus Christ she will be spending this Christmas rejoicing in His presence.
A visitation for Dona will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue, Bryan, Texas 77801. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 1515 South College Avenue, Bryan, Texas 77801. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery, 5103 N Texas Ave, Bryan, Texas 77803. After the service there will be a meal provided at After the Rain Church, 401 Lawrence, Bryan, Texas 77801
