Grace Hart

Grace was born September 23, 1923 in Copeland, Kansas to M.E. and Leona Lay. The family continued to move east until they settled in Wichita. She and her siblings attended public schools there and Grace graduated from Wichita High School East in 1941. She continued her education at Wichita University until 1944 when she met her future husband, Charles D. Hart. It was love at first sight and they shared 60 beautiful years together until Charles passed away in 2004.

Grace was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bryan and her beloved Eunice Sunday School Class. She was a charter member of the Intercessory Prayer Program. Her hobbies included reading, cooking, baking and doing for her family.

Grace is preceded in death by her sister, Jewell Thurman; brothers, H. Blaine Lay and George A. Lay as well as their parents.

Survivors include children, Charles David Hart and his wife Nancy of Lubbock, Jane Van Guilder of College Station and Robert Blaine Hart of Bryan.
