

10 a.m. Saturday, August 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow in Mt.
Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 20, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a 7:30 p.m. rosary. Leonardo was born April 11, 1929 in Cameron to Eleno and Bartola (Montalvo) Ramirez. He worked for 43 years in Waste Water Management for the City of Bryan and retired as a supervisor. He loved watching baseball; his favorite team from the beginning was the Cleveland Indians. Leonardo was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church where he served as a member of El Santo Nombre and the LULAC Council 229. Leonardo was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Ramirez; sister, Lupe Macias; and brother, Jesus “Chuy” Ramirez. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Janie Ramirez of Bryan; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Maldonado, Sally and Mauro Aguado, Rachel Ramirez, Linda A. and Manuel Martinez, Terry and Benito Garcia Sr., Irene M. and Joe Garcia all of Bryan; brothers and sisters, Margarito and Elvira Ramirez, Julian and Cruz Ramirez, Pete and Mary Ramirez, Joe and Kenny Ramirez, Ysidor and Mary Rose Ramirez all of Bryan, Elena and John Cornejo, Margaret and BJ Mayorja, Eleno and Hope Ramirez all of Austin, Ruth and Albert Morales of College Station; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
