Mary Ann Court Scarmardo

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday August 1st at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Ebner and Rev. Msgr. John Malinowski officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:30-8:00 p.m. Sunday with an Altar Society Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and public Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.

Mary Ann was born November 30, 1912 in Burleson County the daughter of Jasper and Ouida (Scarmardo) Court. She was a devoted wife and mother. A woman of strong Christian faith, who started each day with prayer by praying the Rosary. Although, a very quiet women, she loved people and being around people of all ages.

Mary was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Holy Rosary Society and the Altar Society. She would volunteer many countless hours at the St. Vincent de Paul Store in Bryan.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband Joe C. Scarmardo, brothers and sisters-in-law, Jake and Ann Court, Luke and Billie Court, Tony and Zella Court, Frank and Rose Court, and her brother-in-law, Davis Whitted and stepdaughter, Betty Carrabba.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Scarmardo Lindsay and husband Gregory of Bryan; stepson, Pete J. Scamardo of Bryan; sister, Corine Whitted of Katy; grandchildren, Joe Alan Scamardo, Carolyn Mezger, Pete J. Scamardo, Jr., Mark Carrabba and David Carrabba; great-grandchildren, Travis Carrabba, Ross Carrabba, Grant Carrabba, Michael Scamardo, Andy Scamardo, Matthew Scamardo, Thomas Scamardo and Kate Scamardo; great-great-grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Scamardo.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St. Joseph Manor for the excellent care of their mother the past three years and Hospice Brazos Valley the last few weeks. “You have all been angels from the very start, not only did you give your time, you also gave your heart.”
