

She was born on August 5th, 1930, in Praha, TX. Throughout her life, she embodied strength, resilience, and unwavering faith. She was a member of the Katolicka Jednota Zen Texaskych (KJZT), the Union of Czech Catholic Women of Texas, for 76 years.
Mary was a woman of incredible perseverance who faced every challenge with courage and determination, never giving up no matter what life placed in her path. She possessed a quiet strength that inspired those around her and she has left a lasting impression on everyone who was blessed to know her.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Kurtz Jr.; her daughter, Cindy Davis and husband, Barry; her granddaughters, Lexi Heritage and husband, Joseph, Laken Davis, and Lindsey Davis; her grandson, Daniel Joseph Kurtz, and her great-grandson, John Paul Heritage. She is also survived by her older sister, Agnes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Daniel Kurtz; her parents, Vaclav and Matilda Lala; her brothers, Joe and Gus; and her sisters, Bernadette, Rosie, and Ludmila.
Her legacy of resilience, love, and faith will live on through all who knew her, and she will be missed beyond measure every single day. Though she is now dancing in heaven, her memory and legacy will forever live on in our hearts here on earth.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, March 21st at 1pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, TX. A committal burial service will be held on Monday, March 23rd at 11:00am at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Cemetery in Shiner, Texas.
