

Melinda Lopez Garcia, aged 66, passed away peacefully in her home June 7th, 2025, just one day shy of her 67th birthday, in Bryan, Tx. Born on June 8, 1958 in Los Angeles, Ca, Melinda was renowned for her radiant personality, marked by a perpetual smile and a generous spirit. Her passion for life was evident in her love for her family, dancing, singing, cooking and entertaining, talents that she embraced wholeheartedly.
Melinda dedicated most of her life to nurturing her family, delighting in organizing gatherings for every conceivable occasion, making each event special with her meticulous attention to detail and warm hospitality. Her home, always perfectly kept, was the heart of her joy and celebration, thanks to the support of her loving husband, Victor Garcia.
Professionally, Melinda spent many fruitful years as an optician with TSO, where she formed lasting relationships with her colleagues, who became like a second family to her. Following the sale of TSO, she continued her career at MyEyeDr, where her dedication and love for her work remained unchanged until she retired.
Melinda’s life was rich with relationships. She is survived by her husband, Victor Garcia; stepchildren Monica Garcia, Christabel Garcia, Donna Cavazos, and Deano Becerra; and her daughter Stephanie Ingram. She was a beloved sister to Diane Lopez, Leticia Lopez, Sonia Lopez, Maria “Lupe” Lopez, and Felix Lopez Jr. Her joy was multiplied by her grandchildren Kaden, Joey, Ashtyn, Craig, Nicholas, Seth, and Jordan, and her 11 great-grandchildren.
Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Rubi Lopez, stepmother Maria “Nana” Lopez; sister Sylvia Flores; and her grandparents Jose and Ignacia Lopez, and Julio and Luz Morales.
Services to honor Melinda’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 18th at Memorial Funeral Chapel, public viewing from 5:00-7:00 PM, and a rosary from 7:00-8:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph Church in Bryan on Thursday, June 19th, followed by burial at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Melinda’s legacy is a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who knew her.
A very special thank you and much gratitude to Sonia Lopez, who moved from Washington State to help Victor with the everyday care of Melinda. She was well taken care of by the ones she loved, until the very end. Melinda will be greatly missed.
