

Myriam M. De Quiñones, born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 93. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and generosity that will be cherished for generations.
Affectionately known as “Ita” by her great-grandchildren, Myriam was a woman of grace, warmth, and strong principles. She exemplified kindness and hospitality, making everyone who entered her home feel welcomed and deeply loved. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who gave of herself fully and fiercely to her family.
In Puerto Rico, Myriam was actively involved in numerous community and faith-based organizations. A woman of deep spirituality and service, she played a vital role in social ministries and charitable foundations. She was also the lead singer of her high school choir and maintained a lifelong love for music. Myriam dedicated her life to raising her four children and was a steadfast partner to her husband, assisting him in the operation of his law firm.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Tomás and Felipa Motta; her husband, Santiago Quiñones Elías; her son, Víctor Quiñones Motta; and her brother, Efraín Motta Ferrer.
Myriam is survived by her loving children: Miriam and her husband Jaime Román, Jr.; Noel Quiñones and his wife Soraya; and Ariel Quiñones and his wife Evelyn. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and their spouses: Arlene and Neto Leal, Coral Marie and Nick Rodriguez, Jaime III and Emily Román, Ariel and Ashley Quiñones, Sara Beatriz and Nick Kozole, and María Ninoshka and Freddie Aroca.
Her memory will live on in her fifteen great-grandchildren: Jorge Gabriel, Elisa Coral, Cecilia María, Jaime IV, Natalia Arlene, Amelia Skye, Eva Lucía, Ariel Santiago, Klay James, Elías Joseph, Viviana Rose, Claire Lane, Nina Francis, and the soon-to-be-born Ximena.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that her loving spirit and unwavering faith will continue to inspire us and guide us forward.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all those who cared for Myriam during her final days, especially the compassionate team at Hospice of the Brazos Valley.
A visitation for Myriam will be held Friday, July 25, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm with a rosary/vigil service at 6:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 10:00 am at St Mary’s Catholic Center (the historic church), 300 Nagle St in College Station. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
