

Pauline Palasota Lewis, age 94, died peacefully on September 17, 2010 in Tomball Texas, after a long lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor John A. McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with the Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.
Pauline was born on June 17, 1916, in Bryan to Lucille and Peter Palasota. After graduating from school in Bryan and joining her father in owning a beauty/barber shop she met and married her beloved husband Ira Francis Lewis. She was a devoted wife and mother of two children; Ira F. Lewis Jr. and Joy A. Lewis Smithwick.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing bridge, traveling and being a grandmother. She was a dedicated member of The Bryan Women’s Club, St Joseph Catholic Church and Alter Society for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ira Lewis, her siblings Lelia Rotello, James Palasota, Sam Palasota, Pete Palasota, Annette Varisco, Jane Starnes and Frances Roppollo.
She is survived by her son Ira Lewis of Spring, Texas along with his wife Barbara; and her daughter Joy Smithwick of Frisco, Colorado and her husband Larry; her grandchildren Chandler Lewis, Wendy Smithwick Hanson, Diana Smithwick, Daniel, Rachel, Joe Buck and Christine Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
