Raymond D. Ramirez Jr.

Raymond D. “Bubba” Ramirez, Jr., 66, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, at Smetana Cemetery. Raymond was born April 28, 1945 in Bryan, and was the son of Raymond Sr. and Katie (Hair) Ramirez. Raymond was a man of many talents; the greatest of these was his ability to love unconditionally. He impacted the lives of many who knew him well, and most times he left you with a laugh or smile. He will be greatly missed and remembered by his wife Barbara when she hears their song, “Just Look At Us”, sung by Vince Gill. Especially the lyric “If you want to know what true love can be, just look at us”. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Barbara Renee' Ramirez Mason; brother, Gene Ramirez; sister, Fannie Fargosa; and great-grandson, Gabriel Ramirez. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Jones Ramirez; son, Raymond Paul Ramirez; special brother-in-law, Donald B. Jones; granddaughters, Brandi and Amanda Ramirez; great-grandsons, Jason, Damien, Caleb, Owen and Jayden Ramirez; nephews, Will Dean and wife Sheri, Shannon Dean, Charews, Will Dean and wife Sheri, Shannon Dean, Charles A. Dean and Charles R. Dean; niece, Donna Sue Ashton; and special friend of the family, Mrs. Thelma McGill.
