Wilfred Rust

Wilfred Rust, 83, passed away Tuesday October 11, 2011 at his home in Bryan, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday, October 13th , from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 A.M. Friday, October 14, 2011 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery in Bryan.

Wilfred was born March 20, 1928 in Burton, Texas to Edward and Elsie Kokemor Rust. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He and his family moved to Bryan in 1954. He retired from Woodson Lumber Company in 2007 after 54 years of faithful service. He was a member of the Sons of Hermann Lodge No. 99 and the Faith United Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son-in-law Billy Wirth, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Christine Schaefer Rust of Bryan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donnie Rust of Robinson, Texas and Darrel “Bubba” and Ladell Rust of Wellborn; one daughter, Brenda Wirth of Bryan; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and close family friend, Katherine Akin and her family of Bryan.
