After retiring in 2006, Margo moved to Bullhead City, Arizona, with her husband, Dale. Together they embraced the beauty of the desert and all that the area had to offer, enjoying a well-earned season of life side by side.
Margo had a deep love for cooking and was especially known for her spaghetti, which many considered the best they had ever tasted. When family or friends came to visit, she would often prepare a full, delicious meal, and if you were lucky, it included her famous spaghetti—an all-day labor of love that was always worth the wait.
Playing cards was one of Margo’s favorite pastimes. She taught all of her grandchildren how to play rummy, turning it into a cherished family tradition during visits. She also loved blackjack, and many hours were spent gathered around the table playing cards, laughing, and catching up on each other’s lives.
She was an avid movie watcher and could happily watch her favorite films over and over again, savoring the acting and scenery each time. Classic movies were her preference—unless the film starred Leonardo DiCaprio, whom she clearly adored. Titanic and The Revenant were among her favorites, and the family often joked that she had a bit of a crush on him.
Margo also loved to dance and filled family gatherings with music. She was a big fan of Marvin Gaye, often playing “Let’s Get It On” and “What’s Going On,” followed by Al Green and “Let’s Stay Together.” Music from her youth held a special place in her heart, including songs by Elvis Presley, which always brought a smile to her face.
She cherished time spent on the water with Dale, fishing for hours and always hoping for the big one. At Lake Casitas, she proudly caught one of the largest striped bass her family had ever seen. In retirement, her love of fishing continued in the Sierra Nevada, where she spent peaceful days trout fishing in the mountains.
